This weekend I joined some fabulous women from my Moms Run This Town group to go running in Washington DC. I brought my phone and took a few pictures along the way, so I can show you how lovely it can be to run in our nation’s capital.
We started at Roosevelt Island, which actually is in Virginia, no matter what your GPS says. 😉
Then we ran across the Key Bridge, where I took this picture of Georgetown University in the distance.
We ran along the Georgetown waterfront, past the Kennedy Center, and under the Roosevelt Bridge and Memorial Bridge. Before we headed to Hains Point I took this picture of the Jefferson Memorial.
After our Hains Point loop we got stopped at a traffic light, so I took a picture of the other side of the Jefferson Memorial.
We ran around the Washington Monument and down to the Lincoln Memorial, where I took these pictures.
I was so hot and sweaty, I decided that an ice bath would be the perfect way to cool down and recover. I stopped at a shopping center with a grocery store and a Starbucks to get my
ice bath essentials.

Would you like to join me for a run?
Have you tried an ice bath yet?
I think you ran with some of my MRTT moms too. We have to run together one of these days!
Most definitely! I was thinking that I need to hit the hills near Mt. Vernon, but the Custis Trail is plenty hilly too.
I think that shot of the Jefferson Memorial is amazing. Must have been even more amazing in person. My MRTT group is finally growing. If only I could join them!
Hopefully someday soon!
Even though I’m not a mom, haha, I would love to join you for a run in DC once I get down there at the end of August!
Sure thing! Since my kids are in college I barely fit the “Mom” profile myself. 😉
I love DC! I hope to get to visit there again soon.
I’m too much of a wuss to try an ice bath. But if I did, I’d drink hot chocolate in the tub.
That would work too, I’m sure! Or you could get all healthy and drink tea. 😉
Beautiful picture of the sunrise behind the TJ Memorial!
I’m hoping to start a MRRT where I live – not sure why I thought this was a good time but still….
