In just a few weeks I will be running my first race of 2014–the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run. I’ve always known that proceeds from this race support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, but this year I’ve decided to do additional fundraising to support this important cause.
According to information from the organizers, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® raises funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada. Donations stay local to fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $4.7 billion.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® raises most of its donations through its $1 Miracle Balloons. I would love it if you would make a donation through my fundraising page.
Last week I sponsored a fundraising “jeans day” at work (people are ask to make a $5 donation in exchange for the privilege of wearing jeans), and my generous coworkers donated over $500 to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals! As relentlessly demanding as it is, I do love my job, and the great people I work with are a very important reason I feel that way.
Do you have a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital near you?
Have you ever had to take a child to a hospital?
good for you! i love being able to support wonderful organizations in an easy way!
What a great cause and what a great idea with the jeans day! Good luck – I’ll spread the word. That really hits home when you ask “have you ever taken a child to the hospital”… I’m thankful our only hospital trips have been for scrapes and things that heal nicely. It’s still awful.
We are huge supporters of our local Children’s Hospital. Dear daughter has had two open heart surgeries there and still visits twice a year. We are so grateful for their amazing doctors and nurses!
Good luck with the fund raising!
Gosh, Tamara, I’m so glad she’s OK today!
We have a good Children’s Hospital just over an hour away. Thankfully we have never had to take either of our boys but we have many friends who have had to take their kids.
Hmm. I think my son had at least five ER visits. Most were for broken bones!
Love that you are doing this.
