I’m joining in with the November Old School Blogging link up hosted by Elaine from Miss Elaineous Life and Brittany at That’s Vandy. I really enjoyed Christine’s post on Love, Life Surf and I hope you enjoy learning a bit more about me. So, here goes!
Where is your cell phone? Recharging for the day ahead.
Your significant other? My husband of 25 years.
Your hair? Baby fine and super-straight, with graying bangs that I may or may not ever color.
Your mother? Always supportive. Very thoughtful. A rock for my kids.
Your father? Died suddenly two and a half years ago. I still think about him all.the.time.
Your favorite thing? My iPhone.
Your dream last night? An occasionally recurring nightmare that I “remember” at the end of the semester that I’m supposed to be in college (or graduate school?), have missed almost all of the classes, have zeroes on almost all of the homework assignments, and am panicking about how I’m going to pass.
Your favorite drink? Sparkling water. I know you were expecting me to say Starbucks, but I usually only get coffee once a day, while I enjoy sparkling water anytime.
Your dream/goal? That my kids find careers they enjoy and relationships that sustain them through good times and bad.
The room you are in? A hotel room for a business trip.
Your fear? Losing one (or both) of my kids in a car accident.
Where do you want to be in six years? I am so bad at answering questions like this. I probably will be exactly where I am, but it sounds so un-ambitious to say that’s where I want to be.
Where were you last night? At dinner with Christine!
What are you not? Ambitious. Don’t get me wrong, I am a type-A perfectionist and have always done well, but I am not good at “dreaming big” or goal-setting.
Muffins? I’d rather have cupcakes.
One of your wish list items? A new laptop, but there are so many options I don’t know where to start.
Where you grew up? Alexandria, Virginia.
The last thing you did? Woke up and fired up my laptop.
What are you wearing? PJs, until I put on my gym clothes in a few minutes to hit the hotel gym.
Your TV? New Girl. The Middle. Modern Family. Gray’s Anatomy. Revenge.
Your pets? Our rescue boxer, Tiger Lilly.
Your computer? My work laptop (a Lenovo).
Your life? Overworked, but I love my job.
Your mood? Optimistic.
Missing someone? My kids.
Your Car? BMW A3.
Something you are not wearing? Shoes.
Favorite store? Athleta for fun clothes. Banana Republic for work clothes.
Your summer? Not enough time at the beach.
Like someone? My husband!
Your favorite color? Blue.
Last time you laughed? At dinner last night.
Last time you cried? Last week, when PowerPoint crashed two hours into my un-saved presentation and only recovered my first slide.
What is one thing on your To-Do list? Last-minute grocery shopping for Thanksgiving.
What about you? Pick a question or two to answer in the comments or link up a post with your Old School Blogging answers with Elaine and Brittany and tweet them at @elainea and @BrittanyVandy using #OSBlog!
Those cupcakes look amazing! I am with you, there was NOT enough beach time this summer!
I love these – – I had a super weird dream last night – I was in middle school and transferring to a new school and I forgot my paperwork and had to call my husband to bring it to me. Although I can think of lots of things going on in my brain that would come out that way in a dream. It’s still weird. Funny how we’re always forgetting stuff in our dreams.
And forgetting school stuff at that!
Loved this post. Despite being retired, I still get nightmares like your study/school-related one – all along the lines of showing up at tests unprepared, shocked that I do not recognize anything on the test, fear of failing etc. All those years of school stick with us! ….any my favorite thing would be my GARDEN 🙂
Yum! Those cupcakes. I’m currently eating my way through a batch of muffins that taste like cupcakes. The best of both worlds 🙂
Good luck deciding on a laptop. I’d been dreaming of a MacBook forever, so when my seven year-old Dell gave out last summer, I had no choice but to replace it. I knew exactly what I wanted 🙂
I’m afraid I use too many PC hot-key combinations to move smoothly to a mac, but I’m tempted to suck it up and re-train my fingers!
Yay! So glad that you did this and so glad that we got to have dinner last night! That picture of the beach is gorgeous and makes me long for summer – especially on a cold grey day like today!
Thank you for coming out on such a cold night!
Oh man, that would make me cry too! UHG!!
Congratulations on 25 years of marriage, that is wonderful. And I love your dog’s name. 🙂
Thanks so much for playing along with Old School Blogging!
Thanks for getting it started!
I love reading these! I prefer cupcakes too hehe 😉
Loved reading more about you! I didn’t have a chance to comment write away, because I decided to play along instead. You can read it here. We have a LOT in common, but I thought it would be weird to copy so many of your answers. LOL.
Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. 🙂
Thanks for playing along. So, we grew up in the same city — but in different states! 😉
