Thanks to a combination of insomnia, jet lag, and excitement about Fitbloggin, I woke up bright and early on Saturday morning. What better way to start my weekend than go running in Portland?
I was staying at The Nines hotel, which was really close to some great running paths along the Williamette River.
Isn’t that sky amazing!
I ad-libbed a route that took me across a few bridges.
I stopped to take pictures of the skyline–and a few selfies!
I even ran up these stairs to the Burnside Bridge.
The view from the top was worth it!
I went back across the river on the Steel Bridge
when my route was blocked by a long freight train.
When I finished my run, I cooled off in the mist of a fountain at Waterside Park.
Of course I stopped at Starbucks before heading back to my hotel room!
This Starbucks at Pioneer Courthouse Square opens at 4:30 am every day!
Do you get scared running across bridges?
Have you been to Portland?
P.S. Google Reader is gone today but you can follow my blog just as easily on Bloglovin by clicking here.
ok. so. you are SO SO SO SO A RUNNERS RUNNER.
you were in town for 3 minutes (ok 30 hours) and ran?

What a beautiful path to run through! I've never been there and I don't even like walking over bridges 😉
Most bridges don't bother me, and these were not intimidating.
Looks like a great place for a scenic run.
Yep – running some of those bridges might scare me. And, those stairs look like a lot of work during a run – great job!!!
Looking forward to hearing more about the conference 🙂 Pretty pics.
Ooh, so pretty! I really want to get to Portland some day… and was sad to miss Fitbloggin this year!
Would love to have run those stairs with ya, Coco. But you would've probably left me behind in the dust.
No way, woman! I've seen your crazy-ass workouts! You'd be skipping rope up those stairs 😉
Looks like you got a great pre-conference run in!
Wow. That sky really is completely gorgeous! Looks like a beautiful run.
It really was a great way to start the day!
Gorgeous run!!! Did you have fun at Fitbloggin'? I'd love to go… one day. I've never been to Portland either 🙁
Oh I love Portland! It is such a great city to run in and it looks like you got a gorgeous on in. I want to go back and visit!!
