This is the best time of year for running.

The weather is cool, but not too cold. The trees are in their full fall colors. I can run without worrying about over-heating or slipping on a patch of black ice.
This is the worst time of year for running.
Now that we stay on daylight savings time until November, it is very dark at o’dark-thirty. While I don’t mind setting my alarm a little later on the weekends, if I want to run outside before work, I have to run in the dark. I am lucky to live in a neighborhood with plenty of street lights, but there are still hazards–the headlights of an oncoming car can blind me, and last week I almost literally ran into another runner!
Do you run in the dark?
Do you have any special running gear to enhance your visibility?
yes i run in the dark, usually out door before 5 a.m
I don't wear any special running gear, I run all sidewalks around here so I'm fine 🙂
I live in SoCal, so we do not really have any "seasons". I'm lucky to be visiting the east coast this weekend and I get to see the leaves change. I do run in the dark sometimes, and I have a great little head lamp that I wear. It makes a huge difference, not only for me in seeing possible cracks in the road or things I might trip on, but it also helps oncoming cars see me!!!
YES!
it's called a treadmill (rimshot? :))
Oh hush, get a headlamp & run.
The worst part about this being the best time of year to run is if you've fun a fall marathon & now you're sitting here in limbo WAITING… Oh, wait. that's just me bitching. 🙂
I have a reflective belt and most of my jackets have some kind of reflective striping on the back. I try to only run in places with sidewalks and good street lights. 🙂

Yes, I run in the dark, but not in the morning… I do it in the early evening right after work (which is hard to do sometimes!) and yes, I have a reflective vest that I wear when I go on those runs!
