Do You Remember?

Do you remember?

Graphic with the words of the post

Do You Remember?

The disbelief when you first heard the news?

The horror when you turned on the television?

The fear as more planes kept crashing?

Where you were? Who you called? How you prayed?

The 40 who lost their lives near Shanksville, PA?

The 184 who lost their lives at the Pentagon?

The 2753 who lost their lives in New York City?

The first responders who spent hours, days, months, and years on rescue and recovery missions, sacrifcing their health in the process?

How we came together, united against the terrorists?

How we vowed to not let them win by giving into fear and hate?

How we said we would never forget?

Do you remember?

“How we vowed to not let them win by giving into fear and hate?” is what makes me the most sad about the current state of the world.
I ran down to the Memorial on Monday and may head down there again this evening

  2. I cannot believe it’s been 18 years because it is a day I will never forget. I remember feeling so scared for my babies’ futures. My husband has to fly today so I am trying not to worry

It really is a day burned in our memories. I often have to fly on 9/11. I feel camaraderie with other passengers assuming we are all a bit uneasy but putting on a brave face.

  3. I lived in NYC at the time and can still so vividly remember that day…and the days that followed. Hard to put into words.

  4. I definitely do remember. There are just some moments in your life that you will never forget. I know exactly where I was when I heard, and I remember the eerie silence for days afterward (because we lived near the airport).
