Decorating For The December Coffee Date

If we were having coffee at my house, you would notice the Christmas tree in our foyer. I don’t know if I’ve ever put a tree up this early, but last weekend was my best opportunity for a few weeks, so I figured I had better get it done before I was tempted to not bother.

If we were having coffee, I would explain that I put it up in our foyer because I wasn’t ready to give up my puzzle corner in the family room yet. I did two puzzles in November, and have a Christmas-themed one I want to do next.

This one is so hard they make it easy—the backs of the pieces are stamped with letters A-F, so you can do one section at a time.

My Mom got me this one for my birthday—isn’t it gorgeous!

If we were having coffee, I would ask if your neighbors have their holiday declarations up. I think this neighbor was working on their display before Thanksgiving.

They’re on a corner lot, and the displays go all the way around.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that one reason I put my tree up last weekend is because tomorrow is my annual Christmas cookie bake-a-thon! There will be four of us baking this year and I’m hosting.

Just stopping in for a quick cup of coffee! It’s great that you already are getting started on decorating for the holidays. I plan on tackling that this weekend. Plus, I have some festivities planned–just to get me in the holiday spirit! Enjoy your cookie bakeathon!

Most of my decor is up but not the tree. Yours is beautiful! OMG that puzzle! Happy baking!

My neighbors like those big blow up decorations.

I have decorations everywhere and cats seem to ignore them. Only a small tree. And a menorah.

Your tree is beautiful. And that puzzle is amazing. That my cats may destroy. lol

    That puzzle – wow!!

Your tree is so pretty! I’m hoping to do some decorating this weekend – mostly the wreaths on the front of the house. With the construction, I’m still trying to figure out where we can fit a small tree.

  5. those puzzles look hard! Nice work! I know you love your cookie baking day have so much fun and enjoy!

Ooh, cookie baking!!! I want to hear all about it. I’ve been googling recipes but haven’t decided what I’m making yet (other than the traditional favorites- I always want to try new ones.). Your tree is beautiful!
Oh, those puzzles… I’ve announced to the family that we’re doing a puzzle this month (this was met with varying degrees of enthusiasm.) I think I”ll start with something a LITTLE easier than yours- I’m thinking a 500 piece puzzle with a Christmas theme.
    Thanks for hosting as always!

  7. Nothing like a bakeathon to motivate decorating, LOL!

Yes, some neighbors have lights up (most waited til Thanksgiving or after or thereabouts). There’s no big display in our neighborhood, but then again, I’m rarely out at night anyway!

The completed puzzle is beautiful. The new one looks challenging!

  8. I remember your bakeathons from years prior! What a fun holiday tradition:-) Im always impressed with your puzzles I enjoyed doing them over college break, years ago, and also as a kid (on a card table by the family Christmas tree). I need to clear some space and find a good puzzle to rewind with after my workdays.

You’re a star at baking! Those cookies from last year look delicious!
No Christmas decoration at all over here in Cape Town – there’s only very few Christmas things in the shops.
Enjoy the bake-a-thon!! And don’t forget to show us some photos of the result!

  10. Wow, that is some serious decoration! Some of the houses around here are decorated but not that many. Love the puzzles – so pretty.

Your tree looks so pretty and festive! :]

That first puzzle looks super hard, but it’s nice that they sectioned it off so it wouldn’t be so difficult!

Hope you have fun with the baking! I’m going to try to do a little of that this year! 😀 It’s been awhile!
