The First Ultimate Coffee Date Link Up Of 2015

Happy 2015! What better way to start the year than having coffee with friends? Pour yourself a cup, pull up a chair, grab the badge and join us!

The Ultimate Coffee Date

If we were having coffee, I would ask you how your holiday was. We had a pretty quiet Christmas, but it was nice all the same.

If we were having coffee, I would ask if you got any fitness-related gifts I might want to check out. As I shared in my Fitmas post, the only new running gear I got was the headlamp I bought for myself, but my husband gave me lots of new cycling outfits.

If we were having coffee, I would ask if you are making any New Year’s resolutions. I feel like a broken record needing to make the same changes at work that I resolved to make last year and the year before, but my perseverance should pay off eventually, right?

If we were having coffee, I would ask if you read about my Starbucks saga. Someone less addicted to Starbucks would have just stopped going back, but I guess I love their coffee more than I hated the hassle.

If we were having coffee, I would ask you what’s on your reading list. I read three very different books in December (Help, Thanks, Wow by Anne Lamott, The Girl With All The Gifts by M. R. Carey, and Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell) and am ready for something new.

  1. I didn’t get any fitness related gear either, so sad πŸ™

  2. I have to say I got lucky this Christmas in the gear department – lots of Athleta πŸ™‚ You always have such good book suggestions – which of your new reads would you recommend?

  3. Your Starbucks saga made me laugh yes! I don’t really make resolutions but I do plan on making some clean eating nutritional tweaks this month. Too much dessert the past few weeks. Love our coffee dates!

  4. No fitness related gifts this year… but that’s ok, I probably have too much anyway ! Thanks for the link up.

  5. Carrie Skoll says:

Thank you for the book ideas – I just finished Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects and really enjoyed it. But, now I need a new one.

I haven’t really made any resolutions – I hate that word. But, I have promised myself that my new fitness goal is to use the gym at my work at least once a week at lunch. A 30 minute workout on a day that I wouldn’t have worked out is the plan.

    • Coco says:

Sharp Objects was not my favorite of her books, but it wasn’t horrible. πŸ˜‰ I found it incredibly hard to take a break for a midday workout at work β€” hopefully your office culture is one where people actually take lunch breaks!

  6. Yes, I read about your Starbucks saga… fortunately, Starbucks just doesn’t cut it for me. Two books I recently read include, What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty and Twenty-Eight and A Half Wishes by Rose Gardener (#1 in her Mystery series). Thanks for hosting this link-up. I’m glad I stumbled upon it.

    • Coco says:

I just started What Alice Forgot this weekend! I’m glad you found us too – mark your calendar for our next coffee date the first Saturday of February!

  7. Kristen says:

I loved The Girl With All The Gifts! Have you read the Witches Trilogy by Deborah Harkness?

  8. Tamara says:

No fitness related gear for me this year. Guess they all know that my cupboards are overflowing πŸ˜‰

  9. Christmas felt a little quiet and different this year. I don’t know if it’s because of all the hoopla around my sister’s wedding a few weeks before. I didn’t really get any fitness related gifts, aside from the ones that I bought myself! I loved Eleanor and Park. I’m reading Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed right now and love it. Probably one of my favorite reads.

  10. Farrah says:

My family/friends and I kinda decided on not exchanging gifts this year because we’re all broke and I honestly couldn’t think of anything I needed (other than money to throw towards my student loans, but I wasn’t about to ask for that :O ).

    I read Charlene Carr’s Where There is Life earlyearly this morning with the intention of just reading a couple chapters before bed, but ended up finishing the whole thing and having my heart break multiple times throughout. ;_;

  11. I got a nice medal hanger for my wall and I love it! Santa did fill my stocking with gu and chews πŸ™‚ I too need a good book to start let me know what you pick! Cheers to 2015 my friend!

  12. Kim says:

I got the FitBit Charge and love it!!!

  13. Glenda Cates says:

I did not get any fitness gear but wish I had as I am determined to lose weight this year. I also only read one book during December as I spent more time with my son. I hope to get back to reading this month and will check out the books you listed.

  14. I am currently finally reading Wild, love books.

  15. Megan says:

I added my blog link to the link-up, then I started reading the other blogger’s posts. If you need to remove mine since I didn’t follow the format, please do. I love your format and should have paid more attention to it BEFORE posting my link! I am going to plan on participating next time. Again, sorry!

    • Coco says:

No worries! I think the format caught on because it’s easy. πŸ˜‰ Thanks for joining the link-up, and we look forward to seeing you again in February!

  16. Marty says:

If we were having coffee, I’d say that I’m reading Morrissey’s “Autobiography” and its scathing.. πŸ™‚
