What Makes You Feel Naked?

As a gadget-obsessed runner, I refer to running without my Garmin and iPod as “running naked.” I may have done it once, as part of a #runchat challenge last year, or by accident, when I got to my running path and realized that I left my Garmin at home and my iPod was dead, but it certainly is not how I prefer to run.

Garmins

I even wore two Garmins when I was comparing
my old 405 to my new Forerunner 10!

I know there are good reasons to leave my Garmin at home once in while, and other reasons to run without music, but I love getting lost in my tunes as I run, and I like reviewing all the data that my Garmin collects.

Last week I had a different experience of feeling naked. When I got to work, I realized that I had forgotten to put on earrings. It drove me crazy the whole day. If the Starbucks downstairs sold earrings, I would have run down to buy some, especially even if they looked like little coffee cups. I felt like I was missing a piece of myself, even though I knew I probably was the only one who noticed, since my hair pretty much covered up my ears.

I think you can see a glimmer from my earrings.

Another thing I kept noticing last week was how my hair smelled! I usually use this Rene Furterer shampoo from my hair stylist

Furterer Tonucia Shampoo

but I was using samples of this L’Occitane shampoo for a change.

L'occitane Shampoo

I don’t think that the fragrance was any stronger than my regular shampoo, but it was different enough that it caught my attention every once in a while–in a pleasant way. ๐Ÿ™‚

Is there something that you usually wear that you feel naked without?

Are you loyal to one specific shampoo or do you try different shampoo brands? ย

I feel naked without my rings too, except when I'm working out, then they feel bulky and annoying.

Definitely naked if I leave my house without my phone. That's like losing an appendage. ;-0

  5. I have gone home (from work) before to get earrings (especially when my hair was shorter!!).
And, mascara – I'm not big on wearing makeup but I do always add mascara (I've gone home to fix that before, too!!).
I just got the green Garmin you have – still learning how to use it because I've never had one before!

I run with my Garmin sometimes, but I also leave it at home anytime I go for an easy run or when I am recovering and focusing on listening to my body and not on pace.

  7. I'll try different hair products all the time…I love trying out new things ๐Ÿ™‚

My phone. If I leave the house without my phone I feel naked. And running without my Garmin too. I know there are benefits and advantages but I never run without my Garmin.
