Well, I made it through my over-scheduled week and am ready to relax. As it turns out, tomorrow I will be driving to Vermont to go skiing with my son for a few days. Doesn’t every one relax by trying to keep up with their 20-something kids on the slopes? 😉
There are a few loose ends at work preventing me from experiencing this “Woohoo!” feeling, but I know as soon as I click my boots into my skis I will leave all that behind.
Ready To Relax
In a week that was everything but relaxing, I relied on running to keep my stress levels down. Thank goodness my Achilles was up to the challenge.
Monday: Core + 5.0 Scooby Miles
Note to self: my legs felt amazing after yesterday’s rest day!
Also nice to finish my run in daylight.
Tuesday: 30 min Strength + 30 min Peloton Ride
I couldn’t decide on a podcast to listen to while I walked Scooby, so I did Jess King’s outdoor walk instead. Sam Yo’s ride was fun–he gave horoscopes for the different Chinese Zodiac signs.
Wednesday: Core + 4.0 Scooby Miles
I went into the office for the first time since December, so I didn’t have much workout time. The weather felt so amazing, it was hard to stick to 4 miles.
Thursday: Core +Â 5.15 Scooby Miles
Thursday was my “big” day at work. I had planned to do a 3 mile run + strength workout, but once I was running, I wanted to keep going.
Friday: Core + 30 min Strength + 20 min Peloton Ride
This strength workout had more rest than I like and this ride was easier than I expected from Jenn Sherman, but for the day after a tough day at work, they were good enough.
Saturday: Â 8.6 Scooby Miles
Holy weather swings, Batman! Where I was dodging ice last weekend, it was 50F at 6 am today– shorts weather for sure! Finally no ice, but that could change after the wintery mix in the forecast for tomorrow.
I just discovered the background filters on Prisma.
I think I’ll be renewing that subscription after all!Â
Sunday: 60 min Peloton Strength Workouts
I pieced together three 10 min and one 30 min strength workout to round out my week. Jess Sims’s class was on the mild side for her classes. I think this Hannah F. arms + light weights classes is one of my favorite. And the Matt Wilpers class is the hip PT classic.
And with that, I am ready to relax!
A huge thank you to Deborah and Kim for hosting the Weekly Run Down link up.
How is your February going so far?
Well, I don’t like to ski so it wouldn’t be so relaxing for me. Then again I wouldn’t ski, so maybe it would be super relaxing. 🙂
You have earned it Coco, enjoy!
Well, I’ve never skied in my life, but “relaxing” doesn’t come to mind- more like exhilarating and terrifying. But, you won’t be at work and you’ll be with your son, and I’m sure it will be amazing. You had some great running this week! Glad your achilles is feeling good.
I’m going to check out that arms and light weights class- pushups are hurting my wrist (sigh) so I’m looking for something else.
Enjoy your vacation!
Ha ha…I’m in agreement with Judy and Jenny with skiing. Although, given the fact that I’m in much better shape these days (and my balance and mobility are decent), maybe I’d fare better expected (?). Oh well, I’ll just leave that mystery unsolved for now, LOL. Solid week for you, Coco. Great job!!!
I haven’t downhill skied in years!!! Holly has been after me to join her but I admit to being a little fearful after all this time. Have so much fun, Coco! You know I love keeping up with my somethings…
Great job getting so much fitness in during such a busy week! I’m so glad you’re getting some time away. Hope the skiing is great 🙂
I did that Matt class twice this week too. it is a good one. We sure did have a wacky week of weather didn’t we? I managed to get out today with the strongest snow burst. Hope you are able to relax on your trip and have fun with your son. Long drive!
I hadn’t done Matt’s class in a while. I forgot how good it is. It will be a long drive. I’ll have to do some stretching once I arrive.
I am on a ski trip myself (well, technically snowboarder here, but same idea.) We had a glorious bluebird day, so fun. I found it relaxing 🙂 Skiing seems harder on the quads than snowboarding though but you are ready! What resort are you going to?
Awesome week and love those Scooby miles 🙂
Enjoy your well deserved skication
It’s funny that you went to a class since you couldn’t choose a podcast — for me it’s usually the opposite, or a preloaded class won’t work.
Have so much fun on your ski trip! It’s been years since I’ve last skied but I think it can definitely be relaxing.
Yay for a break, Coco! I hope work will leave you alone so you can thoroughly enjoy your time with your son. Is your daughter-in-law there too?
That background filter is so cool! I’ll need to check out Prisma.
I may have to take Sam Yo’s Lunar New Year class – that sounds fun about all the different horoscopes.
So glad that you got through your crazy week – I know that was intense! Safe travels to Vermont tomorrow and have fun skiing!
We are going skiing this upcoming weekend. I’m really looking forward it. I have never skied out east farther than New York. Some day I’ll make it out there I hope. Enjoy your trip!
An interesting issue of the podcast was quite interesting to listen to
