DCA-ORD-BOS-DCA

It was one of those weeks with back-to-back work events in different cities. I led programming for our new associates in Chicago, and then headed to Boston for a client meeting and small conference put on by my firm. I sacrificed workout time for early flights, but kept up my Peloton streak with a few airport walks.

Does anyone still print out paper tickets?

Home (DCA)

My week started with my usual routine at home, including two runs with Scooby.

Sunday: 6.25 Scooby Miles

It was brisk, but still short sleeves + shorts weather.

Tuesday: 4.67 Scooby Miles before heading to the airport

Back to long sleeves, but still in shorts.

Chicago (ORD)

I only had one morning in Chicago, but luckily the weather cooperated for a run. I headed out @ 6:00 am, and it was dark for more than 1/2 of my 5.75 mile run.

It was overcast, so no pretty sunrise.

The Lakefront Trail is so well-lit, I didn’t really need my headlamp,
but I did need my headband to keep my ears warm!

Boston (BOS)

I had one morning in Boston and it was dark for my entire 5.5 mile run. I ran down Commonwealth Avenue and along the outside of the Public Garden and Boston Common, and then headed back along the river.

It was a pretty morning even though I don’t have many photos to prove it!

I did not keep up with the Coretober workouts. Yes, I probably could have spared 10 min before heading to the airport at 5 am on Wednesday and at 6 am on Saturday, but it would have just stressed me out. I’ll catch up with a few I missed and probably will sub some of last week’s 10 min classes for a few of next week’s 20 min classes. 😉

My baby toe is still bothering me a bit, but it’s getting better. I did wear “normal” shoes this week, so that’s progress!

A huge thank you to Deborah and Kim for hosting the Weekly Run Down link up.

Phew, that’s a whirlwind week! 6+ mile runs in three different cities while juggling work!
Ha, yay for “normal” shoes! Tiny victories count, especially after a toe trauma! And well done for keeping the Peloton streak alive with airport walks.

  2. Wait to make the most of your travel week and getting in what you could. I’m a huge fan of airport walking classes. Better than sitting at the gate ! And to answer your question-my mother still prints out her boarding passes 🙂

  3. Debbie says:

I’m impressed that you were able to fit runs in while in both Chicago and Boston. Airport walking sounds like a great way to pass time while waiting for your flight.

Love the photos! Those skylines are beautiful, with or without a sunrise. Of course I always love a good Scooby photo as well. I also appreciate your hanging skeleton in the background : )

  5. Cari says:

Glad your toe is on the mend, and the weather cooperated for some outdoor time amid all the work

  6. Im glad your toe is feeling better. Mine is still feeling compromised…but not any worse, so I’m taking that as a positive. Nice runs with all that traveling!

  7. Jenn says:

All that travel can be really exhausting and draining, but it sounds like you made the most of it! And I’m sure that Scooby loves those walks with you on the nicer mornings!

  8. Melissa says:

Wow! You were busy this week but you still were able to be active. I’m glad to hear your toe is feeling better! Love all the decorations. Does Scooby get spooked by any of them?

for some reason my comments don’t appear.

but as I said I am so impressed that you get in so many miles before work… but it’s so fun to run in a different city. I’d do the same.

    Hope this week is calmer.
