Fooling Around At The April Ultimate Coffee Date
If we were having coffee, I would ask if you enjoy April Fool’s day? My favorite prank played on me was when my kids added food coloring to my eggs when I stepped out of the kitchen for a minute. I was so confused! These days I enjoy when brands play jokes on their social media accounts—announcing crazy products or questionable endorsements.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that the conference I attended last week had the most amazing food. Yes, it was held at the Ritz-Carlton, but even keeping that in mind the food was better than I expected. For Wednesday’s reception they had beer + food pairing stations (the Guinness + brownies station was quite popular), while Thursday’s was a more typical wine + cheese event, with a huge charcuterie table and separate offering of fresh vegetables.
Isn’t this the cutest way to serve veggies!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I almost didn’t finish my March puzzle, but I really wanted to be able to share it with you while the cherry blossoms are still on everyone’s mind, so I buckled down and got it done.
It’s a cover from the March 15, 1919 edition of Vogue
Speaking of 🌸, I’m looking forward to seeing Cari and Deborah after they pick up their race packets on Saturday. The cherry blossoms might not be as pretty this weekend as they were last weekend, but I think the weather is better!
Oh that puzzle!! I love vintage magazine covers…the artwork is so incredible! April 1 is the hubby’s birthday, so there were many tines he’d tell his parents we were having an oops baby (when they’d call him on his special day). They fell for it every time!
LOL, maybe that was wishful thinking on their part too — you know grandparents! Happy Birthday to your husband!
Like Kim, April 1 is my husband’s birthday too! Only we didn’t think of playing the baby prank on his parents, haha!
Thanks for finishing the puzzle for us, Coco. I love the “Jugendstil” – so elegant.
Are you going to run the Cherry Blossom race?
What are the odds of two April Fool’s husband birthdays in our group! No Cherry Blossom for me. I was still rehabbing my Achilles when the lottery opened.
I’m not a fan of practical jokes but I think what your kids did to your eggs is right up my alley! I woke up to snow this morning, so i guess Mother Nature is playing a practical joke on us! Thanks for coffee.
That’s a rude prank!
Cari’s not coming? I thought she was! Oh no. I love that puzzle. So pretty! Would be great to see the cherry blossoms in person.
Our April Fool’s joke is often snow, but thankfully this year it’s just rain. It can be fun figuring out what’s real & what’s a joke today!
Oh, she is. I think WordPress didn’t like the link.
Oh, she is! I think WordPress didn’t like the link.
I used to put a different cereal inside the boxes so when the kids poured it in their bowl, they were super confused. That puzzle is gorgeous.
Oh, that’s a good one. That would confuse me too!
I love that vintage magazine cover puzzle! After I see your puzzles I always say I’m going to order another and then I promptly forget lol. So fun that you’ll be seeing Cari and Deborah!
Thanks for the reminder. I didn’t realize it was April 1.
Have fun this weekend. FOMO here. One year I have got to go. Hoping to see cherry blossoms in NYC next weekend. Not a bud here yet.
Beautiful puzzle.
The best April fools day joke was when I was little and my mom woke me up telling me our gerbils had babies… April Fools! But then two days later they really did have babies so the joke was on her, muahahahaha.
The food at your conference really does sound incredible, and i love that puzzle! You got it done just in time. Have fun this weekend!
I had totally forgotten it was April fools day until I saw all the posts. I think Mother Nature has been doing a great job of it this week though! Excited to see you both tomorrow
Not a fan of jokes today but do enjoy the ones brands do. They always make me laugh! Have fun with Cari and Deborah! One year I would love to do that race too.
A popular downhill marathon (Mountains to Beach’s) announced they were reversing the course this year.
That puzzle looks challenging.
Oh, that’s a good prank. Believable enough and I’m sure people were up in arms!
I always get fooled on April Fool’s Day! I’m still trying to figure out if the Northern Lights in Chicago was a hoax but it seems like not but city light and clouds made it a no go either way.
Love that cute salad bar!
I love that they made that cover of Vogue into a puzzle! That would have taken me a long time to do! So many similar colour sections so well done!
Isn’t it pretty? It was hard though!
Very cool puzzle. That’s so great that your conference had good food. Love the veggies in flower pots 🙂
haha, I liked the April Fools pranks where companies were making questionable products/endorsements too! Definitely did several double takes.
Those vegetables!! Love how they shared it like that — it’s super cute!
