Loving Our Coffee Dates

If we were having coffee, I would ask if your new year is off to a good start. The 31 days of January took for ever, but I have a feeling February’s 28 days will fly by.

If we were having coffee, I would ask how many coffee makers you have. I like to make a big pot of coffee, and love our Bonavita for that. My husband likes to have a cup while I’m still working out or running with Scooby, so we have a second machine for that.

Coffee Makers

Up until this week we had a Tassimo, but it finally bit the dust. Now that we have a Keurig that can use those Starbucks pods, I have a feeling I’ll be using it t00–mostly for an afternoon cup of decaf though.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I finished my first puzzle of 2022! It came together more quickly than I expected, probably because I knew similar colors had to fit in the same general area.

Color puzzle

I enjoyed looking at the pretty colors!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I have joined the Wordle craze, but I promise I don’t post my results on Facebook every day. If you haven’t played, the goal is to guess the 5-letter word within 6 tries. After each guess, you know if a letter is wrong (dark gray), in the wrong place (yellow), or in the right place (green). (Sort of like Mastermind.) I love that you can only play once a day—something to look forward to, but not spend too much time on.

WordleI learned getting the first letter makes it easy to guess words,
but not to guess the correct word!

If we were having coffee, I would ask if you’ve seen The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window (on Nextflix)? It has a dark but quirky (or quirky but dark?) vibe like Dead To Me (another good show if you haven’t seen it). And, wow, does she pour a glass of wine! 😉

  1. Nope, I have not taken the time to dip my foot into the Wordle pool (but thanks for explaining the game…no one else has, LOL). That jigzaw puzzle looks so pretty! All my favorite colors 😉 We have a Keurig and a regular coffee maker (I haveno idea on the brand/model becasue I seldom ever use it). I think we also inherited the in-laws big perculator (?), but that’s never even been plugged in…

Oh yes, January felt long! My husband is the only coffee drinker in our house and he uses some sort of pour-over method. If you came to my house I couldn’t even offer you a cup of coffee because I don’t know how to make it!
That puzzle… when I first looked at it I thought it would be impossible, but then I see what you mean about similar colors… that would make it doable. What are you doing with it now you’re finished?

    • Coco says:

My husband briefly went through a pour-over phase, but it was such a process he lost patience!

I packed up the puzzle and started a new one. 😉

  3. Oh my gosh did January feel like it went on forever! But I think you’re going to be right about February.

We have a Keurig, though it’s starting to show signs of age. My husband likes to break out the French Press on Sundays – the best cup of coffee but more effort than I can muster most mornings LOL

I’m completely hooked on Wordle – I love word games and the fact that there’s only one puzzle a day.

  4. Have not joined in the Wordless craze.

Haven’t seen the woman & very long title — lately we’ve been striking out on things to watch.

One keurig. I don’t drink coffee (but the hubs does — not much, though).

  5. Love Wordle! I also do the NY Times Spelling Bee every day, too!

That puzzle is awesome! We haven’t done one yet this year.

I loved Dead to Me. I’ll check out this new one. Is it based on a book? I read a book that goes with that title 😉

We started watching the show this week too it’s good! I think we will finish it this weekend. It is so funny you have 2 coffee makers! I am also into wordle and love it along w the NYT mini crossword daily. Do you use the same first word everyday? We have a debate about what the best strategy is there.

  7. Cari says:

That one with could made me crazy because I kept trying to figure out a word that sounded like sound or wound. I did finally get it though.
I just have my new Keurig, but I had a Mr. Coffee until my neighbor’s broke early in covid time and she couldn’t get a replacement so I gave her mine since I rarely used it. Making a giant pot would be more economical, but I don’t always want the same flavors all day so I’m OK with the extra money as a treat
I can see how the colors of the puzzle would be soothing

  8. Catrina says:

I showed the Wordle thing to my dad and now we are competing against each other – who gets it in fewer tries.
He also sends me texts and secretly hides the word of the day in the text – e.g. “what a moist day it is today”. Quite funny.

Maybe I should get back on board with Netflx? I suspended my subscription because I couldn’t find anything good, and now I’m seeing all those cool recommendations.

  9. therightfits says:

We have an N’espresso and a separate coffee pot. I love them both!

I have seen ads for that show and love Kristin Bell, so adding it to the list!

Great job on that puzzle- it’s so pretty!

  10. kookyrunner says:

I just did my first Wordle puzzle yesterday and thought it was cool. I am glad that there’s only one puzzle per day.

That puzzle looks so cool but it might have taken a while to complete since so many of the pieces had the same color!

  11. Marcia says:

We just have one lonely coffee pot here. We enjoyed Dead to Me so we’ll definitely check out that new one after the Olympics. I’ve resisted Wordle so far, although the Caveman loves it. That’s a great puzzle!

  12. Wendy says:

I might have to take your recommendation on that Netflix show! We’re currently watching Yellowstone, but occasionally have to take a break.

  13. Denise says:

I still haven’t started any of my new puzzles. There’s not enough time in a day. Although I did watch Kristen Bell’s Netflix show (that title is long!) and yes she drinks quite the glass of wine!

  14. I have not played Wordle but I see people post their score/results on Facebook. I have 3 coffee makers but use one at home. I took one to school (Keurig) thinking I would use it but the principal has one and we use it. I also have a Ninja one which is cool but do not use anymore. Love the colors of the puzzle!

  15. runswithpugs says:

Wordle is my favorite. Some days it’s super challenging, but that’s ok.

We have two coffee makers. Mr PugRunner has a ninja carafe-style, and A has a small Keurig-style one. Everyone is happy.

  16. Wordle!! (insert many hearts here!!). My family is obsessed with it and enjoy sharing our results. It was super frustrating the other day, but eventually I got it. I’m sure it’s one of those brain games that AARP would recommend to me. ha!

    • Oh, and we don’t make coffee at my house. I’m the only one who drinks it (in sugary cold style) so I buy the International Delights kind. Well, my kids do enjoy a glass of it too sometimes. Although I do make cold brew to add in some extra caffeine in my iced coffee, but that’s it. We’ve never owned a coffee maker.

  17. Farrah says:

That looks like a difficult puzzle, but the colors are definitely pretty!

I haven’t joined in on Wordle but do like that you can only do it once a day so it doesn’t sap too much time! 😛

I loved The Woman In The House Across the Street From The Girl In The House — it was hilarious!
