Back in the day, there were “Wordless Wednesday” posts–just a picture or two with no explanation. That was too hard for me, but I enjoyed writing Almost Wordless Wednesday posts–a picture or two with a bit of explanation. That’s the approach I’m taking today with my rainbow scavenger hunt recap.
Thanks again to Judy for the rainbow scavenger hunt idea.
Rainbow Scavenger Hunt Run
I tried to take pictures with a staying-at-home in the suburbs theme:
Red markings on an athletic field that
usually would be bustling on Saturday morning.
An orange construction cone at a home construction project.
Yellow caution tape making sure no one gathers at the picnic tables.
Green markings in an empty bike lane.
Blue handicap parking space at an empty parking lot.
Indigo/Violet painted rocks at the foot of a neighborhood driveway.
I’m linking up with Coach Debbie Runs, Running on Happy, Confessions of a Mother Runner, Mile by Mile, Runs with Pugs, and Organic Runner Mom for the Runners’ Roundup linkup.
Did you go on a rainbow scavenger hunt run?
Awww, I have to admit that some of those made me a little sad. But I do love how you thought (or painted?) outside the box there, Coco.
I took the opportunity to make memories of these strange times!
I love it that you combined the challenge with the lockdown theme! That is genius!
We should start a new challenge: all the lockdown-related stuff we see on our neighbourhood runs!
That would be interesting to see!
A scavenger hunt is a fun idea! As you know, I find some interesting things on my run…
You sure do! Some things I’d rather not find.
You did a great job with these! I still need to get out and do it one of these days. Fun! Thanks for linking up
It was a good diversion on my route!
Loved seeing the results of your scavenger hunt! I did this too on a socially-distanced hike with my grandsons but never published the results. Maybe a future post!
It would be fun to see!
I love the idea of a Rainbow run. I need to head into town to do that though as I live on a lonely dirt road right now with not much of interest to report color wise lol
Maybe you could look for different wildflowers.
I thought the rainbow scavenger hunt was fun! My orange pic featured a piece of playground equipment in our neighborhood park…with yellow tape all over it, also symbolic of the current state of “off-limits.”
Yes. The tape on playground equipment is disturbing. Hopefully it will be coming off soon.
It must be weird to see some of those places empty! I really haven’t gone anywhere outside my neighborhood so i havent seen areas that are quieter. My neighborhood seems busier than every because everyone is playing outside now!
I do see a lot of people out walking — more than ever before.
I didn’t do the rainbow scavenger hunt but seeing other people doing it made me more aware of the colors I see on the run.
It did take a lot of photo stops!
I have not been on a scavenger hunt run, but it sounds fun!
I loved those painted rocks when I saw your post the other day. We have yellow caution tape wrapped around all of the equipment in the park in my subdivision. The park just went under a major overhaul this past year and it’s so sad the kids in the neighborhood don’t get to enjoy it.
Yeah seeing these scenes so empty is eerie and telling of the time we’re going through. I do love that pile of colorful rocks. My older daughter used to collect rocks from everywhere.
I like the idea of wordless Wednesday! I don’t think I’d seen that before. But yeah, it would be hard for me to now have any explanation at all. Looks like you had fun on your scavenger hunt run 🙂
Great job! I did do a rainbow scavenger hunt and it was so much fun!
