Wrapping Up November

Woosh! That’s my November whizzing by. And what a month it was. I’ve been in Bolder, Phoenix, Chicago, and home. I ran a Half Marathon. I turned 50. I visited my Mom in the hospital. Still, with enough professional make-up, I can look none the worse for wear.

I went to Chicago to tape a webinar at a film studio.  It was so professional! Even my male co-panelists had to get full make-up. 😉 [Tweet “Wrapping Up November #Weekly Wrap”]

Wrapping Up November

Since I’m on my way to Boston for what I hope is my last business trip of the year, I’m going to jump right to my recap for the Weekly Wrap. Between my travel schedule and exhaustion level, I didn’t make it to CycleBar, but I still got in a few solid workouts.

Monday: A solid Endurance/Strength/Power day at Orange Theory Fitness.

9 splat points is a lot for me

Tuesday: Strength workout at home before heading to Walgreens for my Mom before heading to the airport. With all that going on, I left my Garmin at home. 🙁

Wednesday: 3-ish mile run in Chicago.
After waiting for a bit of sunlight, I didn’t have much time for a run before I had to get to the film studio, but the sunrise was worth the hassle.

Thursday: Strength workout at home .
I really had to talk myself into this one. It was one of those days when I would have been content to practice corpse pose. I eased my way into a light workout, and then wished I had time for more.

Friday: CorePowerYoga
Anne offered “curiosity” as an intention, which was fitting for a class with chin stand as the peak pose. I have no idea what I’m doing with that, but it is fun to play around.

Saturday: 9 mile run
Speaking of curiosity, I was planning an 8 mile run, but wanted to see if I could get a better view of the sun glinting off the Ferris wheel. The weather was gorgeous–upper 30s with no wind–and the running run felt easy, although my PF yelled at me later.

This view was worth the extra mile!

Sunday: 22.5 mi bike ride before packing and heading to the airport.

Luckily I sent my itinerary to a colleague meeting me in Newark for the second leg of my trip, because he noticed that while I’m flying from D.C. to Boston today, my ticket to Newark is from D.C. not Boston. Gah. Thank goodness the travel agent was able to rebook me ….

Beautiful pic!! And what a November you have had! Great job with your bike ride! I’m sure that doesn’t seem like much but that’s farther than I have even gone on a bike.

  4. That filming sounds like it was fun! I would be freaking out if I forgot my Garmin when I was planning on running….haha. But I guess phones have apps for that, but I hate running with my phone.

  5. I bet it was fun doing the glamour thing with all the makeup and the filming 😉 You look great!! BTW, thanks for the Advent word heads-up!

I swear this entire year whooshed by! Glad you were able to catch one of our glorious sunrises and enjoy some unseasonably mild weather, which is all coming to a screaming, shivering end tomorrow.

  10. Wendy says:

Do you ever wake up and forget where you are? All that traveling would be tough! But it would be fun to run everywhere you go.

  14. Teresa says:

Being busy must be good for you 🙂 It doesn’t seem to take away from your beast mode accomplishments!
Hopefully, the holidays will be more relaxing for you 🙂

  17. You have had such a busy November with lots of trips all over.
Do you find it hard to get splat points?
Even as out of shape as I am right now after my ankle break and 2 pretty off years of training before that (with being sick) I still have to fight tooth and nail to get any splat points.
It is like the runner’s heart rate just triumphs over all. Which I guess is a good thing.

    • Coco says:

I have to work hard for every splat point and can barely get a handful. My usual coach says its from being a runner, and that as long as I’m in the 80% range, I’m doing good.

  18. Joseph N. says:

    Hello, Coco.

I really like how active your lifestyle is! You are my inspiration. My mom loves your blogs so much. She waits for it every week. We talk about it all the time and it’s a great way for us to bond.
