Encourage One Another And Build Each Other Up

I know that even the kindest bloggers have their trolls, but the little corner of the blogosphere that I spend my time in is overwhelmingly supportive. We cheer each other on as we train for and complete a big goal race. We sympathize when an injury derails our plans. We laugh with each other over our runfessions. As cathartic as it can be to curse in traffic or vent about how someone else has wronged you, it’s much more uplifting to share a smile–or a wave.

Encourage One Another
This Bible verse comes from one of Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians. He was advising them how to live their lives until Jesus returned, telling them to “put on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet,” and above all to encourage each other and build each other up.

This week, I am encouraging the herbs I planted to survive the process and keep growing. I am encouraging my daughter as she transitions to a new position at work. I am encouraging my son as he faces graduation without his “what’s next?” figured out.

I would like to encourage you to make a donation to the American Heart Association through my Lawyers Have Heart donation page. This cause always has been important to me, but became even more so after I lost my Dad to sudden heart failure. I am signed up to run the Lawyers Have Heart 10K June 11, and will be sharing more about it between now and then.

And you, my friend, are so so good at always encouraging ME.
Ill keep both your children in my prayers <3
    Ahhhh transitions.

  2. So much more satisfying to encourage instead of tearing down!

  3. I love our little corner of the world. My running has improved dramatically thanks to all the encouragement I get from fellow bloggers like you!

  4. That is one of my favorite Bible verses 😉 Yes, our little online family is wonderful 😉

Great verse! 🙂 Thanks for sharing. Hebrews 10:24-25 is also an encouraging one.

    • Coco says:

      Yes:
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

  7. Happy to be a part of your encouraging group of friends 🙂

  8. Tamieka says:

    What a lovely post.

I was considering the Lawyers with heart (close to me as well because of my mom)but not sure of my son’s soccer schedule and with my daughter now having to be at the gym by 9 on Saturdays, Saturday races may be a no go for me ;(.

Come on herbs….you can do it!! Our Zinnias we planted on Sunday were wilted by Monday ;(, I too am encouraging then to grow 😉

    • Coco says:

Oh, I hope your Zinnias rally! Some of my flowers aren’t looking too great but I think it’s just how they are growing. Too bad about LHH. It does start early but probably not early enough for you.

  9. Very encouraging post! I love all the encouragement & support from fellow runners & bloggers!

  10. Pam says:

You are always so encouraging Coco, and like you mentioned, most bloggers do the same. It is especially fun to meet other bloggers/runners at local and travel races. Hopefully I will be in DC sometime for a race that you are also running.

  11. Love that verse! I know that I am deeply grateful for all of the encouragement I have received from fellow runners and bloggers, and I hope I’m always paying it forward.

  12. I love this post! So encouraging!

  13. Lauren says:

I love our little positive community! And it is so fun to meet other like-minded individuals who share my passion of positivity and running!

  14. I think encouraging make both people feel better. I know I feel better when I encourage others, and who doesn’t love a little encouragement here and there?

    Thanks for linking up!
