No Foolin’ — It’s Time For The April Ultimate Coffee Date

It is hard to believe that it’s already time for the April 2016 edition of the Ultimate Coffee Date Link Up, but it’s not a joke! Make sure you visit my co-hosts Deborah at Confessions of A Mother Runner and Lynda at Fitness Mom Wine Country, and show others you’re no April fool by commenting on other blogs in the link up.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I am a bit nervous about the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run tomorrow. I’m not 100% sure that my foot is 100% healed, and I didn’t do any training runs around Hains Point. Will there be enough blossoms left to get me through those tedious miles? (I shared a few other issues I’m struggling with in my Friday Five post here. Do you have any advice for me?)

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I also am a very excited about the Cherry Blossom VIP dinner tonight. As a “thank you” for helping out with the Cherry Blossom blog, I am invited to the dinner for the elite runners and race organizers. I really hope Meb is there!

If we were having coffee, I would ask if you did anything fun for Spring Break. I didn’t take any time off, but I did have a good time visiting my daughter last weekend. (If you missed my Weekly Wrap post, you can catch up on my fun activities here.)

If we were having coffee, I’d try really hard not to say, “Can you believe it’s April already?!” But, seriously! With my son graduating from college in May, I really am wondering how time is passing so quickly.

I know right. ..how is it April…my son turns 8 in 7 days. The time is flying!!!

Thanks for coffee. Always a pleasure!!

  2. I can certainly understand the hesitation about a race while recovering from an injury. I’m sure your body will cooperate and you’ll have a lovely time among the blossoms!! Awesome that you got invited to the VIP dinner. Can’t wait to hear all about that recap!! April came quick, let’s hope it stays for a little while (unless of course the cold weather stays. then it can move along. we need spring!!)

  3. I hear ya on the foot thing…I’m more nervous about running Big Sur because of my foot than anything else.

Good luck tomorrow, and I’m looking forward to the recap!

  11. Unfortunately my windy race will be very cold & snowy, too. Ugh! So yes, I’m trying to figure that one out. Plus another outfit for more miles afterward.

I’ve never been invited to a VIP dinner. I’d definitely want to meet Meb & Joanie, but of course, you already had to make your decision on that one!

    Good luck!

It was so nice yesterday, and I almost wished we were running then, but as much as I am OVER the cold I am NOT ready for the HEAT. So, I will embrace the suck tomorrow. ๐Ÿ™‚

I would love to run that one… someday.

Say “hi” to Meb for me. That is so cool.

  17. I wish I had more time to devote to my blog but unfortunately work has taken priority lately. And at nights, Iโ€™m often worn out. I think youโ€™ll just know when you find โ€œthe houseโ€. Spring will be a great time for house hunting for sure. How to you plan to celebrate when Lent is over in a few weeks?

  18. Good luck with the race. Hope the trees are beautiful and your foot cooperates!

  19. HoHo Runs says:

I worry about my foot before a race too, although it is usually for nothing. Our Spring Break was low key with a few days at the beach watching it rain. The VIP dinner sounds very cool! I hope you had a wonderful race. Thanks for the linkup!

  20. I agree that March went by extremely quickly! The VIP dinner was so fun and I’m glad that I was finally able to meet you!!
