Last-Minute Stocking Stuffers For Runners

Only 13 days until Christmas, and except for a few random things I ordered from Amazon, I have yet to do any shopping! My husband’s wishlist is pretty pitiful (new carbon monoxide detectors!) and my kids haven’t decided how they want to break the bank–XBox One? iPhone6?–they can keep dreaming!

Stocking Stuffers For Runners

If you are still wondering what to put on your wishlist, or need ideas for the runner in your life, here are a few suggestions for fun but inexpensive stocking stuffers for runners.

Race Dots

Race Dots. “The simple, elegant alternative to safety pins, made with two magnets that lock together to hold your race number in place without damaging clothing.” I first heard about these from Sue (you can enter her giveaway here!), and really wished I had them for the USATF 12K, when I had to pin my race bib to my nice long-sleeved Nike top.

Gift Cards. Gift cards get a bad rap, but I am never offended when Santa tucks a gift card or two in my stocking. An iTunes gift card can be used to create a new playlist or download a new fitness app, a Starbucks gift card can be used for a hot beverage after a cold run, and an Amazon gift card can be used on almost anything.

Pro Compression Snowflake

Pro Compression socks are at the high end of my “stocking stuffer” price range, but with 40% off and free shipping using discount code SNOW, these snowflake socks are hard to resist! (Why Pro Compression? You can see my review here.)

Fuel. There are so many options for fueling long runs and races these days, but one thing all the bars, gels and electrolytes have in common is that they are not cheap! On the other hand, at a few dollars each, they are a good price for stocking stuffers. I started using Nuun when I was training for Ragnar (Nuun was a sponsor) and got hooked on the calorie-free, lightly fizzy flavors.

soccer ornament

An ornament. I’ve had this ornament since high school (!), so obviously I think any runner would treasure an ornament that commemorates a great year of running or a specific race. Gone For A Run has some really cute ideas!

  2. All great things for stocking stuffers. I do have those race dots on my list.

  3. I kind of cracked up at your post title – Last Minute – already? I feel like we went from, “oh, the holidays are weeks away” to “you’re too late” in about 2 days.

I’m almost done shopping! Just need a few small gifts for people in my office and my nieces and nephew. But, Hannukah is in 4 days!!! Eek.

I love that ornament. What a great memory.

I am living that irony! I think because I haven’t done any shopping since Thanksgiving that I am feeling the crunch. This weekend is for baking, so that leaves me next weekend to do all the shopping. šŸ˜‰
