Enjoying Coffee In Europe

You know I love my Starbucks, but when I travel out of the country I do like to try local coffee shops. On my last trip, I enjoyed some delicious coffee in Europe.

Enjoying Coffee in Europe

The day we arrive started with a hit of airplane coffee,
made tolerable with a spike of Starbucks Via®.

Airplane Coffee + Via

I only used about 1/2 packet so I could enjoy real coffee later.

We landed at 7 am, checked into the airport hotel, showered and changed,
caught a train into the city, and had just enough time for breakfast before our meeting.

Coffee In Brussels  Even the train station cafe serves their coffee with a small piece of dark chocolate!

The next day, I was so impressed by my client’s coffee service,
I shamelessly took this picture.

Coffee In Copenhagen

At first I thought that little white square was sugar. Nope! It was dark chocolate!

Licorice is big in Copenhagen, so I had to try a licorice latte.

Licorice Latte

It was made with a pour of licorice syrup on the bottom, then espresso, then milk.
I thought it was good, but a little went a long way.

I enjoyed all this coffee in Europe, but as we started our long trek home,
I wasn’t too disappointed to see a Starbucks near our gate.

What is the most unusual coffee drink you’ve had?

AHH IM SO SO SO BLACK AND BITTER always.
    and strong.
you me and T could travel together as I think she’d keep us STOCKED WITH VIAs!!
    🙂

  2. I actually hate coffee unless its a Java Chip Frappucino from Starbucks…that’s the closest I get to brewed coffees 🙂

That’s not very close! When I see people adding 5+ sugar packets to their coffee, I wonder why they don’t just get a Mountain Dew. 😛

  3. Coffee in Europe is what got me hooked on an Americano. I’m super plain when it comes to coffee. But I love that Europeans take their coffee seriously. I never thought to add a Via to mediocre coffee. Cool idea.

  4. You really do get around! The coffee in Europe just always tastes better to me. I feel so sophisticated when I drink it-LOL. It prob tastes better bc they don’t have skim milk.

  5. I like my coffee plain and simple. Preferably iced with some milk or a cafe au lait. I love having coffee in Europe. Why does it taste so much more delicious? And airplane coffee is the worst. That’s such a great idea to add a Starbucks via!

  6. Turkish coffee is probably the most unusual, but I liked it!

  7. I love that there coffee sometimes comes with chocolate:)

  8. I’ll always remember the latte that I ordered in Florence where the foam was shaped like a heart. Not totally uncommon but special because I was in Italy.

Now that is a coffee flavour!
