Gym Bag Essentials

I don’t go to the gym very often, but when I do, there are a few things that I can’t do without. Here is a look at my gym bag essentials.

Gym Bag Essentials

1. My iPhone. If I’m doing cardio, I want my iPhone for music. If I’m doing a strength routine, chances are I want to do one of the Best Body Bootcamp workouts I’ve got saved on my phone or a few rounds of the “seven minute” workout. I also use my Interval Timer app for interval workouts and the regular timer for planks.

2. My Yurbuds. If I’m listening to music on the treadmill, I know I can count on my Yurbuds to stay in place no matter how fast I’m running or how much I sweat.

3. My Reebok ZQuick running shoes. Whether I’m on a trip or just using the gym at work, I pack my Reebok ZQuick running shoes because they offer enough support for a 4-6 mile run, but take up less room than my regular running shoe

4. My Purist water bottle. I got this water bottle almost a year ago, and it is still one of my favorites. It really lives up to its promise of leaving my water tasting pure with no plastic taste.

5. A gym towel. Even when a gym supplies towels, I like to bring my own–especially to wipe my sweaty but sensitive face!

I need to do a better job of keeping my water bottle in my bag. I have loads at home – but just forget them and end up buying bottled water. I also keep towelettes in my bag for pre/post gym.

  2. I can never get the yurbuds to stay in my ears but everyone else seems to love them. I am a hazard to the environment with my plastic bottles. #FridayFive

  3. I just got a pair of yurbuds, haven’t really used them yet, I’m hoping they work for me!

  4. Hi, visiting from the friday 5! I’ve been looking more into Reebok for running shoes. I’ve never had that brand before. Which Reeboks would you say are your favorite?

    • Coco says:

These ZQuick are the only Reebok running shoes I have. Like I said, they have less support than my Mizunos, but they are fine (for me) for shorter runs. Plus I do love how they look. 😉

  5. Aly says:

I love your shoes! I have never seen those before!

  6. Love your shoes. Nice and bright, which is my favorite.

  7. Biz says:

OMG, I love my yurbuds! They are the first headphones to stay in place – I hated bending over to pick up weights only to have my headphones pop out.

  8. Oh good! I’m not the only one who rarely visits a gym. I do go to a Pilates studio, but I don’t bring anything besides a water bottle.

Today, I shared a list of my Running Essentials – a post that I wrote a couple of months ago!

I don’t need a gym bag at the moment, but if I did, give me a towel and a water bottle, and I’m good!

  10. AmyC says:

Post run towel and facial wipes are a must!

  11. Kristen says:

Ugh yes, I always have to bring a towel! I totally forgot that on my list! I hate using towels that aren’t mine so I always bring my own. Also, that water bottle sounds pretty cool!

  12. I loved my Yurbuds until the covers kept falling off. I don’t even know where they are now 🙁

  13. hmmm, i’ve never heard of that water bottle company before! i may have to check them out!

  14. Good point on the towel – half the time I forget a sweat towel and end up feeling desperate in the middle of a treadmill run!

    • Coco says:

The poshest gym I ever got to use was at The Four Seasons (we had a deep discount rate after our office holiday party back in the day when we had office holiday parties at nice hotels!) and the attendant brought me a fresh towel and fresh water bottle while I was on the treadmill — now that’s service! 😉

  15. Momshomerun says:

I never go the gym so I don’t have a gym bag. I once tried yoga and then I took a towel with me.
