Baking From A Box

When I do my holiday baking, I usually make everything from scratch–most things really do taste better that way. But I’m not too proud to take shortcuts when a box mix works really well, like with these peanut butter kiss cookies or these pumpkin spice cookies. Last weekend I did some baking from a box to send some goodies back to college with my son.

These are are easy as could be–just thaw (overnight) and bake. The hardest part is waiting for them to cool before succumbing to the warm, flakey, chocolatey goodness!

Santa brought me this Ninjabread men kit, and I knew they would be perfect to bring a smile to my son’s face on his first night back in his dorm room.

This kit did require some work–make the dough, refrigerate it, roll it out, cut out the ninjabread men, bake, and decorate–but they turned out surprisingly well!

  1. I usually never bake from a box. I’m a “from scratch” type of girl however I HAVE made frozen dinners lol but I do see there are lot of really good looking box type (frozen) baked goods at TJ’s I’ve been eyeing…

And those chocolate croissants! YES! I’d make those haha, I can’t make that from scratch! 😛

  2. Gingerbread ninjas?! These are amazing!! Love basically any TJ prepared food:)

I’ve never baked from a box. I only started baking a few years ago. I enjoy that time to slow things down 🙂

  7. Today, I went to the beachfront with my children.
I found a sea shell and gave itt to my 4 year oold daughter and said
“You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.

There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
Shhe nedver wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off tokpic but I had to tell someone!

  8. This is a really good tip especially to those fresh to the blogosphere.
