Healthy Snacking On The Go

I spend a lot of hours away from home, from long days at the office, to grueling business travel itineraries, to hectic weekends running errands. I also tend to get hungry every few hours, but I don’t like being at the mercy of whatever fast food options I might be able to find. That’s why I try to bring healthy snacks with me whenever I’m on-the-go.

I’m sharing some of my favorites, and if you want more snack ideas that match your specific dietary needs, check out this handy healthy snacking tool from SnackNation–and while you’re there, check out their snack boxes. I loved the samples they sent me to try!

Healthy Snacks On The Go

Since I’m often  at work for 10+ hours a day, I include several snacks in my lunch bag.

Healthy Snack Ideas For Work

Pumpkin seeds, apple, Chobani

I also keep a stash of protein bars and granola bars in my desk drawer, in case I have to stay even later, or just have a “hungry” day.

Uber Bars, Z-Bars, Luna Bars, Simple Bars

I love these Larabar Uber bars!

This is one of my favorite snacks take to the movies–
I’ve got the option of cool crunching with cucumbers or salty crunching with almonds!

Healthy Movie Snacks

This is a typical selection of snacks I will pack for a business trip.

Healthy Business Trip Snacks

Trail mix: Cheerios, dried cherries, chocolate chips

What is your favorite snack when you are on the go?

What do you put in your trail mix?

I keep little 100 calorie almond bags in my purse always, just in case.
However, if I am planning it out I take fruits and bars, usually Quest, with me.

  3. It looks like you plan really well! When we go on trips, we always take a cooler to keep fruits and other snacks in. 🙂

Those Larabar Uber bars are so good! I've been loving KIND bars lately– and a good old apple with almonds.

Just posted about snacks yesterday. I am loving Kind Bars, roasted chickpeas and Trader Joe's sells some really good smoked almonds.

Yogurt and fruit tend to be my healthy snack go-tos. I have a hard time with the snacks sometimes because I'm allergic to nuts and a myriad of other things which make all those yummy bars off-limits. Thank goodness for Lindsay and her Healthy Bites!

  8. I love taking apples with me and nutz and vega bars 🙂 You do a great job of planning for your long days!

I make my own granola, which is good and bad – good because it tastes amazeballs, but bad because it does taste amazeballs I keep reaching into my bag for more! 😀

Love your ideas – I haven't found the flips in my area yet – but I puffy heart Chobani!
