Happy Mother’s Day From My Empty Nest

Happy Mother's Day

Wishing you all a Happy Mother’s Day from my (nearly) empty nest!

As I am writing this, I am hoping that my son will not be home for Mother’s Day, because that will mean that his lacrosse team advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals and so he has to stay at school a while longer.

On the other hand, I am looking forward to seeing my daughter who will be arriving on Mother’s Day for a week at home before she starts summer school.

We will be having dinner with my Mom, but we may opt for carry-out to avoid the crowds.

Do you go out for brunch or dinner on Mother’s Day?

  1. Happy Mother's Day – glad your daughter will be home for a short visit – hope your son's team does well.
We never go out on Mother's Day – not worth it to me. Sometimes we get takeout or, like today, we (my husband) grill!

Happy Mothers' Day. We did take out last night with my mom and her boyfriend. It was nice to eat at home and then go out for yogurt. Today we had breakfast at home and then are going out for a late lunch with my husband's family.

We used to go out for brunch with my grandmothers when I was a teenager and in college. Now I see how much of a rip off the big fancy brunches are. Besides, my kids would rather be home.
