I enjoy strong, flavorful beers (like Belgian-style ales) and often have a hard time finding a beer I like on restaurant menus. Earlier this summer we went out for dinner and drinks with my husband’s work friends, and the only beer that sounded good was Raging Bitch from Flying Dog Brewery. I was slightly embarrassed to order a beer with such a crass name, but I gave in to my taste buds and gave it a try.
I really enjoyed the flavor, and the 8.3% alcohol content meant that one beer was enough!
As my “usual” Dogfish Head Raison d’Etre got harder and harder to find, I started looking for Raging Bitch at stores. I was pleasantly surprised to find it at the grocery store, saving myself a separate trip to one of the wine store where I usually shop for beer.
I was even happier to find Raging Bitch at the baseball stadium. Sure, I usually pay $9 for a six-pack, but being able to enjoy a good beer during the game was worth it .
And, the beer went perfectly with the bratwurst and sauerkraut.

Do you have Total Wine & More near you? They have an excellent choice of beer there, along with being able to create your own 6 pack. When you're in Richmond in November, give Capital Ale House a try.
I'm really hard to please when it comes to beer, mostly because i'm girly and prefer a hard apple sider or lemonade.
