Three Things Thursday (The Pantry Edition)

Now that my son has gone to college, there are many pantry items that I won’t have to restock for a while.

Unfortunately, my husband has gotten hooked on these cookies, and I can’t say that I’m never tempted by them.

Are there unhealthy foods you keep in the house because other family members insist on having them around?

Are you able to resist that temptation?

  1. Ugh yes David keeps all kinds of things stocked around here that I would prefer not to have. I go through phases where I can totally ignore it and others where I find myself having little bits…yeah pretending they don't add up to a whole cookie!

Well, yes, of course….the other family member is my evil twin. What did you say you were going to do with all that stuff?

  3. I keep granola bars for my kids. Every once in a while I can't resist them. (They'd like it if I kept ice cream in the house, but I'd eat the entire thing if I had it, so I just don't buy it.)

  4. If I buy any "junk" food, I try to limit it to stuff that I wouldn't ear. Lol But I do keep Reese's and Ice cream always on hand for myself and I generally eat them in moderation.

My husband is a snacker. French bread pizzas, mozzarella sticks, potato skins…basically all the frozen section snack foods. Unfortunately, I love them, too, so it makes it hard on me to stay away. I'm learning control, though, so it's getting better.

We generally try to avoid junk. When i give the kids something junky, i tell them its a sometimes food or a treat. they are little and we talk talk about healthy eating. the best thing i can do is not buy in bulk and sit at the table to eat it. Hubby and i need to lose 50 pounds each that we gained since having the oldest 6 years ago. i look forward to trying new recipes as they get older and making more homemade treats. I seem to have more time with each birthday they have 🙂

Oh your mention of buying in bulk reminded me of the tubs of animal crackers I used to buy. I'm still tempted once in a while, but now I know better!

I had pop tarts in my house and they strangely want missing later I found out my friends ate them!
