I was excited for my long run this weekend, because my physical therapist has cleared me for 8 mile runs. If I do well over the next two weeks, she will declare that my recovery is complete. 🙂
As usual, I set my alarm for 5:00 with plans to meet my friend at 6:00. I knew it was going to be warm, but I was shocked when my weather channel app showed these conditions.
I filled my water bottle with ice and Gatorade and took another bottle of cold water instead of my usual hot coffee for the short drive to our meeting place.
We decided on a shady route and agreed to go slowly. Since it’s been a few weeks since we’ve run together, we had a lot to talk about, and our chatting helped keep us to a comfortable pace.
After our run, I used the gym at my office to stretch, torment my ITB with the foam roller, and do my core exercises (front planks on elbows with my feet on the Bosu!).
